In Room 606 of the Training Center Building, Thailandpost Company Limited, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony took place. The purpose of the MOU is to create added value for the transport and logistics sector with electric vehicles. This collaboration is between Thailandpost Distribution Company Limited (THPD) and NRS Green Pte. Ltd., an affiliate of Nexif, the majority shareholder of Nexif Ratch Energy – a leading renewable energy company in Southeast Asia and Australia. Mr. Tanakorn Lertpaiboontana, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Thailandpost Distribution Co., Ltd., and Mr. Surender Singh, Managing Director of NRS Green Pte. Ltd., jointly signed the MOU.
By signing a memorandum of understanding, the aim is to align with the national strategy, transport infrastructure sub-plan, and logistics system to create added value for the transport and logistics service sector with electric vehicles. This includes the use of materials and equipment related to electrical systems and batteries, supporting the Eco Efficiency Management System (EEMS) and endorsing environmental management. Additionally, it involves innovation for the use of renewable energy in the administration of the THPD. Both parties have mutually agreed to establish electric charging stations for electric cars and electric motorcycles, as well as developing and installing the Solar Rooftop system in the warehouse at locations determined by NRSG. Furthermore, there is a provision of managed fleets of electric vehicles for use in the business operations of THPD.
Mr. Tanakorn Lertpaiboontana, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at ThailandPost Distribution, expressed his satisfaction with this cooperation, emphasizing its alignment with THPD’s business operations guided by ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles. The company places a strong emphasis on environment, society and good governance, focusing on providing socially responsible services. THPD is committed to use resources efficiently both in terms of management during transportation to reduce costs and reduce energy consumption, as well as move forward to becoming Sustainable Green Logistics, including studying and operating in accordance with the government’s policy on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector, especially reducing carbon dioxide emissions resulting from fuel combustion in the engine system. The exploration of electric cars as replacements for gasoline-powered vehicles in the future is also a priority.
